Junior Soccer 2023 Presentation Day

Presentation Day for the Under 5s to 14 year olds is being held on Saturday, 16 September 2023 at the Clubhouse commencing at 10 am.

ANSC Challenge Soccer World Cup 2023

The Australian National Sports Club hosted the ANSC Challenge Soccer World Cup at Potts Park in February 2023 with 24 teams participating.

The four teams that made it to the semi-finals were Palestine, Korea, Brazil and Thailand. The Grand Final was held on 19 February 2023 between Brazil and Korea.  The score was 1:1 at full-time.  The game was won on penalties by Brazil (5:4).   The gold trophy and a cheque for $1000 were presented by Councillor Bilal El Hayek to the Brazilian Team Manager, Jonas Rodrigues

The Runner-up silver trophy and a cheque for $500 were received by Team Captain, Jungseuk Jung, and Team Manager, Sung Jin Kim

The best player and top scorer award in the Championship games was presented to Jin Kim from Korea.

The Man of the Match award was presented to Romulo Lopes dos Santos from Brazil

An appreciation award was presented to the sponsor, Mr Dean Nguyen, from Infinite Zephyr. The Club is immensely grateful for the support of the tournament by Infinite Zephyr and Michael Ekert, CEO of Arena Sports Club. It is sponsors like them who allow competitions such as this to be held for the benefit of the health and enjoyment of our multicultural society.

The best goalkeeper of the tournament, Mr Abbas Al-Mayyal from Iraq, was awarded the golden glove for his efforts.

The referees did a fantastic job throughout the games and were acknowledged for their efforts – James Makris, Joshua Baissari and Lachlan Foley.

No Club would be worth its salt without its volunteers and this game was no exception. Councillor Bilal El Hayek did not forget these children who assisted throughout the duration of the games:
